The Edition System

Every piece is numbered. Every number is permanent.

Each MALONE collection is made in a fixed edition. Once it sells out, it does not return. The number assigned to each piece is its place in that record — a fact that does not change, no matter what comes after it.

How It Works

Leather I, our first collection, is built in a total edition of 250: 150 wallets, 50 clutches, 30 slings, and 20 market bags.

Every piece will carry its number as a physical stamp or card, in the format:

[Object Code] · [Year] · [Edition Number]

For example, a Wallet 1 from an edition of 100 in 2027 reads W1 · 27 · 001/100. A Clutch 1 from an edition of 50 reads C1 · 27 · 01/50. Each object code is fixed to its piece — the stamp is a permanent, physical record of exactly what it is and where it falls in the collection.

The Registry

Every edition MALONE has ever made is logged permanently — piece, number, collection, date. 

As MALONE grows, later collections may be produced in larger numbers than earlier ones. That means an early edition is not simply numbered lower — it may also be rarer, permanently, against everything that follows. Leather I will always be the collection where MALONE began. 

Why We Work This Way

Most goods are made to be replaced. We are making the opposite kind of object — one designed to be held onto, passed down, and recognized for what collection and what moment it came from.

An edition number is a small thing. But it is the difference between an object that is simply owned, and one that is placed — in a body of work, in a year, in the history of a house that is just beginning.

Every MALONE collection, across leather, furniture, and future categories, will carry its own fixed edition and its own permanent record in the registry.
